Seller Notes: | “You have stumbled across a pair of legendary JBL Field Coil D130 E 15″ drivers. Most of those familiar with the D130 magnetized drivers are probably not aware that for a very short time at the beginning of the Korean war around 1952, there was a fear of a Cobalt shortage. JBL shifted into reverse gear and began manufacturing Field Coil D130 drivers.They require 250 Volts to energize the 1600 ohm field coil. Unlike older systems that used the field coil as a choke for the power supply of old radios, these need a separate power supply.I saw one in poor condition here on Ebay not long ago. Very rare to see those as well. Another unusual aspect of these drivers are the serial numbers. They all seem to be the same SN 10613, at least these two are the same, and, the ones here:audioheritage.org/html/readers-photos/d130e.htm have the same serial number as well (unless they might be the same pair).Both of these drivers need new dust caps.
